Today, we will pick you up at your riad/hotel in Rabat. We will begin our 5-day desert trip from Rabat to Marrakech, via Meknes to Fes. Rabat is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, alongside Fes, Meknes, and Marrakech.

Meknes is the sixth largest city in Morocco by population. It is in northern central Morocco. The Almoravids founded a military city in the 11th century. It later became Morocco’s capital under Sultan Moulay Ismaïl (1672-1727), son of the Alaouite dynasty’s founder.

Volubilis is a Berber-Roman city near Meknes. Its ruins are partially uncovered. It may have been the capital of the Kingdom of Mauretania, starting with King Juba II. Before exploring Volubilis, we will have lunch. Following this visit, we will continue our journey to Fes. Overnight stay in a riad or hotel in the medina of Fes

After breakfast in your Riad/Hotel, your 5-day desert tour from Rabat to Marrakech will continue. A local guide will show you the highlights of Fes. You will first visit the King’s Palace and the Jewish Quarter. Then, you will drive to a panoramic view of Fes to photograph the old city.

You will then see the poetry part. It shows how they make the mosaics. Next, we will drive to the Medina to start a walking tour. There, you will see one of the world’s oldest universities, founded by a woman. The Chouara tanneries of Fes are among the city’s most notable attractions.

After lunch, we will drive to Midelt over the Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop in Ifrane, “The Switzerland City of Morocco,” before continuing to Midelt. Overnight accommodation will be in a riad. Overnight stay in a hotel or Riad.

After breakfast, we will continue to the Merzouga Desert via Ziz Valley. We’ll have lunch in Erfoud, known for its dates and fossils. If you want to visit a fossil factory to learn about local fossils, we will continue to the Merzouga Desert. There, we will ride camels and spend the night in a desert camp (HB). The stay includes dinner and breakfast.

Today, get up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then, have breakfast. After meeting your driver, you will travel to the Dades Valley via the stunning Todgha Gorges. You can walk and stretch your legs there. These canyons are popular for climbing and hiking. Lunch will be on the road, and we will reach the Dades Valley. The Canyon of Morocco. The overnight stay will be in a riad or hotel.

On the last day of our 5-day Morocco tour from Rabat to Marrakech, we will have breakfast. Then, we will cross the Rose Valley and “The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Next, we will reach Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa,” and then travel to Ksar Ait Benhaddou. In 1987, UNESCO made southern Morocco’s pre-Saharan adobe architecture a World Heritage site. They filmed movies like Hidalgo, Sahara, and Game of Thrones there. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will go to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains. This will end your 6-day desert tour from Rabat to Marrakech.
