Renting a 4×4 for a Merzouga desert excursion is a quick and exciting activity! Explore Khamlia hamlet. It has Gnawa music, nomads, desert fossils, Berber and ancient towns, and an oasis. Here are some stats about our excursions. We can customize the itinerary to your preferences.
After breakfast, we will visit the Merzouga desert with a 4×4 vehicle. We will visit the village of Khamlia and hear Gnawa music in the community of Black people from Sudan and Ghana.
After listening, dancing, and taking pictures, we will continue our journey. We will travel the Paris-Dakar rally route across the desert. We want to see the beautiful desert stones of ‘Mefes. We will also visit the oasis in the desert and meet nomads who live there.
You will learn how the nomads survive the desert’s summer sandstorms and heat. You will have a Berber lunch while you rest with the nomads. They will serve you tea and a meal made by a Berber woman using traditional recipes.
After lunch, the excursion will proceed in the same manner as the Erg Chebbi dunes. We leave from Merzouga at about 10 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.

Our 4×4 tour was amazing! We visited incredible places in the Merzouga area, including a short visit to the Hassi Labied village. We also tried sandboarding over the sand dunes. It was truly an amazing Merzouga 4×4 Morocco desert tour.
For a fulfilling visit to Merzouga, plan for 2 to 3 days. This allows you to explore the dunes, enjoy a camel trek, and experience the local culture.
Yes, it’s definitely worth going to Merzouga! The stunning Sahara dunes, camel treks, and unique desert experiences offer a memorable adventure and a chance to experience Morocco’s natural beauty up close.
Merzouga is better for a classic Sahara experience with its large, dramatic dunes, iconic camel treks, and stunning desert camps. It offers a more immersive and picturesque desert adventure compared to Zagora.
