Morocco Itinerary one week from tangier

Your Moroccan adventure begins in the coastal city of Tangier, where you’ll be greeted with breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar. After arriving at the Tangier Ibn Battuta Airport, our friendly guide will be waiting to take you to the charming blue city of Chefchaouen. This picturesque town is famous for its blue-painted streets and houses, creating a surreal atmosphere that will leave you mesmerized. Take a stroll through the narrow alleyways, snap photos of the vibrant blue walls, and immerse yourself in the laid-back ambiance of this hidden gem.

Today, we’ll leave Fes behind and embark on a scenic journey toward the Sahara Desert. On our way, we’ll pass through the charming town of Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its European architecture and snowy winters. Next, we’ll drive through the breathtaking Cedar Forest, home to the endangered Barbary macaques. Take a moment to stretch your legs and enjoy the tranquil surroundings before continuing our journey to Midelt, a small town nestled between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains. From there, we’ll descend into the stunning Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and picturesque landscapes. Finally, we’ll reach Merzouga, a gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Today is the day to fully immerse yourself in the magic of the Sahara Desert. Start your day with a camel ride through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can witness the beauty of the desert firsthand. Visit a local nomadic family and learn about their way of life, then head to the village of Khamlia, known for its mesmerizing Gnawa music. Enjoy a traditional lunch in the village and listen to the captivating music that will transport you to another world. In the afternoon, explore the stunning Merzouga Lake and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding desert. End your day with a visit to the palm groves, where you can relax and unwind amidst the lush greenery.

On day 6, we’ll leave the Sahara Desert and continue our journey towards the Dades Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop at the town of Rissani, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Explore the vibrant souks, visit the ancient ksar of Ksar Oulad Abdelhalim, and immerse yourself in the rich history of this fascinating town. Continue your journey to Erfoud, a city famous for its fossil industry. Visit a local fossil workshop and learn about the ancient fossils that are found in this region. Finally, we’ll reach the Todra Gorges, a magnificent canyon carved by the Todra River. Take a leisurely walk through the gorge, marvel at the towering cliffs, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. In the evening, we’ll arrive at the Dades Valley, where you can relax and unwind in a traditional riad surrounded by stunning landscapes.

On the last day of your Moroccan adventure, we’ll continue our journey towards Marrakech. As we leave the Dades Valley, we’ll pass through the picturesque Roses Valley, known for its fragrant rose gardens and stunning landscapes. Next, we’ll visit the palm groves of Skoura, where you can take a leisurely walk and admire the lush greenery. Our next stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a backdrop for many Hollywood movies. Explore the ancient mud-brick fortress, learn about its fascinating history, and soak in the breathtaking views. Afterward, we’ll make our way through the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Finally, we’ll arrive in Marrakech, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
