9 days Marrakech Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival day at Marrakech:

On day one of our 9-day Marrakesh desert trip, we’ll visit the iconic Jamaa Elfna Square in Marrakech, if time allows. The trip will continue via the desert, Fez, and Casablanca.

After checking in to your hotel, it’s time to explore the city for the first time. Are you ready for that? A trip to Morocco would be meaningless without seeing Marrakech. It is one of the most beautiful, fascinating cities in the country.

This 1,000-year-old city has a vibrant medina and great shops. Its architecture is some of the most beautiful you’ve ever seen. Another reason for Marrakech’s fame is its beautiful Riads. They are often former family homes, now guest residences.

The city is full of beautiful little boutique Riads. Marrakech will surprise you and leave you breathless; it is powerful yet full of vitality. Anyone who visits it expects to have an Arabian night’s dream.

Day 2: A guided tour to discover Marrakech with Local Guide:

On the second day of your 9-day itinerary Marrakech, you’ll visit the Red City. After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day seeing Marrakech, the “Pearl of the South,” with your local guide.

As one of the Kingdom’s capitals, the city has many museums and historical sites. They date from the reigns of three Moroccan sultans.

You can visit the city’s top attractions. These include the iconic Jemaa el-Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque. You can also explore the souks, public squares, and museums. There is little doubt that Jemaa el-Fna is a magical and fascinating location. Lost travelers were a common sight. The Jemaa el-Fna Square is accessible from any passageway in Medina. The square is quite full, which may be overwhelming to new travelers.

However, given how gorgeous the place is, staying there for such a short period of time is surely tough. UNESCO just classified the square as a World Heritage Site. You will also see local sights, like Gueliz, the Menara Gardens, and the Majorelle Museum. Explore the Medina. Bargain for treasures. Admire the colorful architecture and palm-lined parks.

You can find almost everything here. This includes clothing, ceramics, jewelry, and Marrakech gifts for your loved ones. You will discover Marrakech’s richness. It lies in the coexistence of tradition and modernity in Morocco.

This is a paradise for shoppers. This city is full of hidden gems, and most of all, it’s a foodie’s dream! Wander the maze of souks all day in search of treasures. Then, enjoy tagine and mint tea on a rooftop terrace.

Day 3: Marrakech– Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Ouarzazate – Dades valley:

On the third day of this nine-day journey from Marrakech, you’ll see the Atlas Mountains. You’ll wind across the Tizi n’Tichka pass to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The HBO series Game of Thrones and the movie Gladiator made Aït Ben Haddou popular.

We will visit Ouarzazate next, where we can find the Atlas Film Studios and kasbahs. Ouarzazate, at 1,560 meters (5,120 feet), is on a desolate plateau south of the High Atlas Mountains. Its wide streets, stone buildings, and French colonial hotels make it seem modern.

The “Gateway to the Sahara” is another name for this tiny city. Ouarzazate is a very diverse city despite its diminutive size. The city boasts many well-preserved kasbahs, or traditional Moroccan forts.

This small settlement is often known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Ouarzazate packs a wealth of diversity into its compact landscape. The city has several preserved kasbahs, or traditional Moroccan forts.

The most famous is the Taourirt Kasbah. It was the setting for many Hollywood blockbusters, like Lawrence of Arabia and Babel. You will enjoy visiting the Atlas Studios.

After we go to spend the night at Dades Gorge in a nearby hotel, you will enjoy dinner there.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert:

After breakfast, you’ll travel to Morocco’s Draa Valley to see a long river. It’s one of the country’s longest. You will stop to take pictures of the kasbahs, Berber towns, and the Draa Valley’s beauty.

Following this, you’ll arrive at Todra Gorges. Todra Gorges is a popular tourist destination in Morocco. The Todra River carved out the gorge, which is a minor canyon in the High Atlas Mountains. You may climb the cliffs, trek through the canyon, and swim in the river. Visitors can explore several tunnels in the gorge.

After a quick lunch at Nkob or Alnif, you’ll have two hours to drive to the stunning Merzouga dunes, “Desert of fine-grained sand dunes.” To enter the desert’s heart, you’ll swap your vehicle for an animal-powered ride. The landscape is always changing as the dunes change and shift.

When you arrive at the camp, we will accommodate you in camel hair tents, as nomadic families do. Play the drums with the camel guides under the stars, then dine and spend the night in a Berber tent. Stargazing there is wonderful. It’s due to the vastness, the lack of light pollution, and a sense of oneness with the universe.

Gazing at the desert night sky, for whatever reason, is an unforgettable experience. The constellations appear in sharp focus. Stars shine with intense radiance nearby.

Finally, you can join the Berbers as they sing and dance by the fire. It is a traditional activity that represents the Berber people’s pleasure and happiness.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert Tour:

Today is a full day in the desert. “Date with the Dawn” is worth getting up early. If you’re in the desert, you’ll see the most gorgeous sunrise from a dune near the camp. It’s a natural wonder.

The next morning, you will ride camels back to Merzouga. An excellent meal awaits you there. Morocco’s Big Dune, over 250 meters tall, is in the Erg Chebbi, a vast sandy desert.

There are 334 people living in the “Village of the Blacks.” They are a Gnawa-Berber hybrid. During slavery, slave traders carried the Gnawa to Morocco. The inhabitants are friendly, courteous, and gracious. They see music as sacred and of enormous importance.

Before your trip to the desert’s oases, consider a traditional tagine dinner. Spend the night in your Merzouga hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga – Ziz valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane-Fes:

You continue your 9-day tour from Marrakech to northern Morocco. After breakfast, you’ll trek through Tafilalet palm agriculture, the world’s largest palm plantation.

On the 20-kilometer walk, you’ll see many palm trees. Then, you’ll reach the Ziz Valley, where a river feeds a palm grove after coming down from the High Atlas. You’ll stop here to enjoy the stunning view of the valley and the village of Aoufous from above.

You’ll then stop at Midelt, in the Atlas Mountains. You’ll have some free time for lunch and to relax. As you journey through the Cedar Woods in the afternoon, you will come across some monkeys. You stop to take pictures. Barbary macaques are known to make Azrou’s forest their home in the area.

The next stop will be Ifrane. It is 1,630 meters up on the northern slope of the Middle Atlas Mountains. This city resembles a Swiss town. It has broad avenues, perfect growth, gardens, green areas, and fine architecture.

In Morocco, Ifrane feels out of place. For this reason, people call it “the Moroccan Switzerland.” Also, Michlifen is a popular ski resort. With many bars and clubs, it has a vibrant nightlife. You will arrive in Fez later in the day and spend the night at a traditional Riad in Medina.

Day 7: Fes sightseeing with a local guide:

Today, embark on a guided city tour with a local guide. Fes is a city worth getting lost in due of its impossibly large (and typically puzzling) old Medina. Starting at the Royal Palace, you’ll travel through the old Jewish District before climbing to one of the Borj towers for panoramic views of the medina.

You will then go to a mosaic residence to observe a demonstration of the old ceramic methods employed by Fassi craftsmen. You will be able to see every stage of the process, from clay manufacture to mosaic assembly.

Following the demonstration, the tour will take you into Fes’s Medina, where you can explore the historic streets and neighborhoods, visit the various artisan neighborhoods (including the tanneries), and see important historical landmarks such as Idriss II’s Tomb and Al-Qarawaiyin University, the world’s oldest continuously operating university.

Your trip will end after lunch, and you will have the rest of the day and evening to enjoy however you like in the Medina. To represent Islam’s sacred hue, the mosaics of Bab Boujloud’s arch shift from blue on the outside to green on the inside.

Walk through Medina’s markets and streets. If you get lost, don’t be afraid; it’s all part of the experience. Return to your Riad (a traditional Moroccan residence with an interior garden) for the evening as you descend the hill.

Day 8: Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Rabat – Casablanca:

The eighth day of your 9-day trip from Marrakech will begin with a fantastic breakfast. Before you leave, snap some photos of the deserted streets.

You will stop at the Volubilis relics, Africa’s farthest Roman outpost. UNESCO preserves them.

Wander the complex. See the temples, some mosaics, and the merchants’ homes. They have working heating systems.

We then traveled to Meknes, the Ismailis’ imperial metropolis and capital. Bab Al-Mansour will include visits to: the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, and the granary.

Next, we’ll take you to Rabat, our capital, where you can see the 11th-century Hassan Tower. Then there’s the Oudayas Kasbah. It’s an 11th-century Andalusian-style castle. It has spectacular views of Salé and the Atlantic Ocean.

We will eat lunch before going to Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial center. Our first stop in Casablanca is the Hassan II Mosque. It’s the second largest in the world.

Its spot on a rocky bay above the ocean is a top achievement of Moroccan architecture.

Next, we will visit Place Mohamed V, which houses various former government buildings. Finally, you will be accompanied back to the riad for the night.

Day 9: Transfer to Casablanca Airport:

Here we are, at the finish of our Morocco Tour. We really hope you enjoyed the tour. It’s been a lot of fun. We’ve done it all together, from laughing to savoring. But it is time to part ways. We hope you have a safe return trip. The 9-day trip from Marrakech will end with the driver dropping you off at the airport. This trip may seem busy to some tourists. We know this. This is just a sample itinerary; you can tailor it to your preferences. Older prefer more relaxed travel that lasts a day or two in each area. Notify us if this applies and we will adjust the schedule.
