The Itinerary of 4 days Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga:
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Skoura – Dades Gorges- Todra Gorge:
A simple pick-up from your lodging starts up your 4-day desert tour from Marrakech. We will travel across the great High Atlas mountains.
We will do this via the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass as we leave from Marrakech. You can request stops at any time during the journey. Your guide and driver know a lot. They will stop at the most pretty locations. After free time for lunch in Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate, we will travel through the Rose Valley and Skoura.
Then, we will go to Dades Gorges. You might choose to see the amazing Amridil Kasbah. It’s one of Morocco’s oldest fortified settlements. It’s located in the verdant oasis of Skoura. If you travel in the spring, we can also arrange a special visit. You can see the valley in full bloom. It’s decorated with an amazing display of roses.
Prepare to be amazed by the unusual rock formations when approaching Dades Gorges. The viewpoint called “monkey fingers” provides a bird’s-eye view of the Gorge. We will finally make our way to your hotel for some downtime, dinner, and overnight
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Dades Valley – Merzouga desert camp – overnight camel trek:
After a delicious breakfast, begin your day with a beautiful drive. You will go along the Dades and Todra Rivers. Berber towns and palm trees surround them.
One of the most gorgeous valleys in the world, the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, is your destination! Continue to the Merzouga desert after that. Our driver will recommend stopping at a traditional Berber shop.
Then, we will head to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. You may take free photos there while dressed in a Berber dress! You can buy something like souvenirs or scarves that are perfect for the desert if you so choose. Keep in mind, that the shop’s primary goal is to share the Berber culture.
You do not need to buy anything. If you are not interested, simply inform your driver or guide so you can bypass the shop. Prepare for a camel trip into the desert at Merzouga. You can try sandboarding and watch the sunset over the dunes. After that, sleep in a luxurious desert tent. There, you’ll have great food and see the nighttime beauty of the Sahara.
