On the first day of the Casablanca tour, we will pick you up from the airport, the port, or your lodging in Casablanca. Many people think Casablanca is Morocco's main city and its largest. First, we will visit Morocco's greatest mosque, the Hassan II Mosque. On the city's west shore, a peninsula overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Free time for lunch. Then we explore the city and go to the magnificent Cornish of Casablanca. Stay overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, depart from Casablanca to see the ancient Roman remains of Volubilis. It is well protected because UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site. There are several exquisite mosaics strewn throughout, as well as old pillars and archways. After wandering among the ruins, we drive 30 kilometers to Meknes. Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. In which we explore Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, and the Granary. Finally, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we travel to Fes. Overnight stay at a Riad.
We spend the day touring the highlights of Fes City with a local guide. The city is Morocco's cultural and religious center. It is also considered one of the country's imperial cities. We begin the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then there's the well-preserved medieval Medina. UNESCO has designated it as a World Heritage Site. You will visit the Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, which is the entrance to the old Medina. Which appears to be a maze of alleys and streets. During your Casablanca trip, you will enter the Medina. You will see the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Tanneries. Finally, there is the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world's oldest institution. Following that, we leave the Medina to tour the Jewish area, often known as "the Mellah". In the afternoon, we drive to a historic fortification with a panoramic view of the Medina and Fes. Finally, return to your riad.
After breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to reach Ifrane. The city is well-known for its cold temperatures, snow, and alpine-style architecture houses. It's no surprise that it's known as Morocco's Switzerland. Following that, we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest. Later, we will continue to Midelt, where we will have some free time for lunch. Then we drive to Merzouga via the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley. Includes stops for panoramic vistas. In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Then you swap to camels to cross the dusty desert. After that, you will halt on top of a high dune to watch the sunset. Finally, you proceed to the camp. Where you can enjoy Berber drum music while dancing around a campfire under a big open sky of stars. Dinner and stay at the campsite.
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the lovely sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you will ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits you to start your trip. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani town, Tafilalet's historic capital. Rissani remains an important trading town in the region, with a huge and bustling souk. After the Rissani souk tour, we go to Erfoud. There, we visit a fossilized marble workshop. We next drive via Touroug and Tinjdad palm farms to reach the Todgha gorges. The Todra River has cut a towering, red cliff-sided canyon through the mountains. These gorges are perfect for rock climbing. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. You cannot avoid stops. They include the "monkey fingers" rock formation and the vista of the Dades valley.
